VoiceThread looks pretty interesting. It’s a collaborative, multimedia slide show with lots of interactive abilities. VoiceThread also has an embedding capability that allows you to add interactive group discussions to your website. You don’t have to download any software and they have a free version that gets you most of what you might need to use.


Spresent

Spresent is a free Web-based presentations application that doesn’t require installation. It helps you create Flash presentations for the Web without learning Flash. You can then send those presentations via e-mail or publish them on your web site or blog.

It touts itself as a replacement for PowerPoint. That remains to be seen, but it does seem to have a lot more going for it than PowerPoint.


Animoto

Animoto is a web application that automatically generates videos by using your selected images and music. Videos are produced on a widescreen format. Could be a great use for educational purposes. I’m thinking about experimenting with Animoto for my next Tufte project.
